What I particularly like is the news items on the right-I come to check up what the latest is!!

To be nice--well, the layout's ok.
To be concise--the content is mind-numbingly trite and boring.
Is this the typical extent of midwive's intellects?

Lovely comment kg, how sad kg has nothing better to do than abuse others. I will now be moderating all comments.

Blogging and reflecting are sure ways to become more fully engaged in your valuable contribution to the mothers and babies you care for and about, so keep it up.

Hi Tania,

I`m wondering how you are getting on with your work/life balance issues?
I`m also keen to develop the idea you share about making Ipu whenua. I got caught up with the idea of having to fire the clay but then I read that I didn`t need to fire it as the idea was that the ipu will break down and return to the land. I wondered did you just mold the clay it may sound ignorant but I don`t need a potters wheel do I?
In Nelson they are loking to develop local planting areas for the burying of the whenua with native trees and I thought that I would like to start making tentative enquiries about doing the same in Marlborough.
I`d be grateful if you could let me know what you think.
Cheers
Pam

Tena koe Tania

Nga mihi nunui kia koe. Hey, thanks for the catch-up. I believe I may know your in-laws if Grant is your tane and Tui is his mum in law - did they ever live in Edgecumbe? I think the whanau have a home down the coast now. I am inspired too by your mahi. Have often asked cousin Pare (who use to be a Night Manager at the Whakatane Hospital why we don't have community services for our people in Te Teko. She has now set up a clinic there. I am keen to do mirimiri and have been to a few kaumatua days. Love the content of your page...neat to get that personal touch on things - ne! Do you have skype? Maybe we could korero that way too. Hi Tania - thanks for asking my opinion about your blog on Ning's BBB page!

I think your blog is organized in an intuitive fashion - the categories on the righthand side are very easy to navigate and read.

Great use of text, images, and video to break things up.

I would recommend changing the text on your title header to a white or light color so it will contrast against the darker background (which will make it easier to read).

I like the drop-down box in your subscribe section - and I wouldn't have any trouble finding where to subscribe!

The "Kia ora, Nau mai, haere mai" greeting in the upper-righthand corner is a great way to localize your blog to New Zealand and it adds a personal tone to an informative subject.

I like the news feed.

The "Midwifery in New Zealand" section is interesting but a bit long for a sidebar item (in my opinion). Maybe pull out a few key sentences that summarize this longer section and link to a separate page (like this comments page) where the text can appear in its entirety. I also have a personal preference for body text to be black on white background or white on black background only. I use colors in headers and subject lines, but not anywhere else.
